Welcome to the SportsBuzzFeed.com community. We created this space for sports fans to share opinions, debate respectfully, post updates, and enjoy the game together.

By using our forum, comments, and any community features (“Community Areas”), you agree to follow these Community Guidelines. If you don’t, we may remove content or restrict access as described below.

1) What this community is for

We encourage:

• Respectful sports discussion, banter, and debate
• Sharing opinions, analysis, predictions, and reactions
• Posting helpful resources and relevant links
• Asking questions and learning from others
• Reporting issues, scams, or harmful content
  
  

2) Be respectful

Treat others like humans. Disagreement is fine—insults are not.

Do not post:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or “doxxing” (sharing someone’s private info)
• Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic
• Content meant to provoke, intimidate, or incite violence
  
  

Sports rivalry is welcome. Personal attacks are not.

3) No illegal or dangerous content

You must not use SportsBuzzFeed.com to promote, coordinate, or instruct illegal activity.

Do not post:

• Instructions for wrongdoing (fraud, hacking, violence, weapon-making, etc.)
• Stolen content, copyrighted streams, pirated links, or “watch free” illegal broadcasts
• Scams, phishing links, or impersonation attempts
  

4) No spam or manipulation

We want real conversations, not noise.

Do not post:

• Repetitive posts, mass promotions, chain messages, or low-effort link dumping
• SEO spam, fake engagement, or coordinated brigading
• Referral codes, affiliate links, or “DM me for…” marketing (unless we’ve approved it)
• If you want to advertise or promote a brand, contact us through the official channels.

5) Keep it relevant

Post in the right category and keep things on-topic.

We may remove:

• Off-topic content posted repeatedly
• Flooding a thread with unrelated arguments
• Excessive profanity, graphic descriptions, or content that ruins the experience for others
  
  

6) Betting, predictions, and responsible discussion

SportsBuzzFeed.com may publish betting-related content, sponsored posts, or ads from third parties. Community members may also discuss odds and predictions.

However:

• Do not encourage irresponsible betting, target vulnerable people, or promise guaranteed wins
• Do not sell “fixed match” tips or claim insider certainty
• Do not post content that looks like fraud or scam betting schemes
• If something looks suspicious, report it.

7) Sexual content and content involving minors

Keep content appropriate for a general audience.

Do not post:

• Sexual content involving minors (this will be reported immediately)
• Explicit sexual content or pornographic imagery
• Non-consensual sexual content or intimate images
  
  

8) Violence, gore, and shocking content

Do not post gore, graphic injury images, or violent content intended to shock.

Sports injuries can be discussed, but avoid graphic images and keep descriptions respectful.

9) Misinformation and fake news

We understand mistakes happen, but intentionally spreading misinformation harms everyone.

Do not:

• Fabricate quotes, results, transfers, or “breaking news” as facts
• Share manipulated screenshots/videos to mislead others
• Present rumours as confirmed info without stating they are rumours
• If you share rumours, label them clearly and cite a reliable source when possible.

10) Privacy and personal information

Protect your privacy and others’.

Do not share:

• Phone numbers, home addresses, bank details, IDs, private emails, or private messages
• Any personal information about other users or public figures that isn’t already widely published and relevant
  
  

11) Impersonation

Do not pretend to be:

• A player, coach, club official, journalist, or SportsBuzzFeed.com staff member
• Another user
• Accounts that impersonate others may be suspended or removed.

12) User-generated content responsibility

You are responsible for what you post.

By posting content in Community Areas, you confirm that:

• You have the right to post it
• It does not violate any law or someone else’s rights

13) Moderation and enforcement

To keep the community safe, we may take action when these guidelines are violated.

Actions may include:

• Removing posts or comments
• Editing or limiting visibility of content (e.g., hiding links)
• Temporary restrictions (timeouts)
• Account suspension or permanent ban
• Reporting illegal content to relevant authorities when required
• We can enforce these guidelines at our discretion to protect users and the platform.

14) Reporting content

If you see something that breaks these guidelines:

• Use the flag feature, or

• A link to the post/thread
• The username involved
• A short description of the issue
• Screenshots (optional but helpful)
  

15) Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was restricted in error, you can appeal by contacting us with:

• Your username
• The link to the content (if possible)
• A brief explanation
  

16) Updates to these guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as SportsBuzzFeed.com grows (new features, new moderation tools, new legal requirements). When we do, the updated version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
