New York Knicks Take 2-0 Lead Over San Antonio Spurs in NBA Finals

The New York Knicks take a 2-0 Lead in the Finals over San Antonio Spurs. The series will now head to Madison Square Garden where the Knicks would be hoping to use their home court advantage against Spurs

The New York Knicks are two wins away from ending a 52-year championship drought after winning both games in San Antonio. They now hold a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

Knicks Win Game 2 by the Skin of Their Teeth

Friday night at the AT&T Center was tense and chaotic, just like a Finals game should be. The Knicks managed to hold off a Spurs comeback to win Game 2, 105-104.

San Antonio came out strong and led the game in the first half. The Knicks fought back with a dominant 31-point second quarter that turned the game around for them. Victor Wembanyama led all scorers with 29 points, but it wasn't enough to give San Antonio the win.

Karl-Anthony Towns was the Knick's man of the match, finishing with 21 points and 13 rebounds with a 66% shooting percentage. Mikal Bridges added 20 points, making an impressive 66.7% from three-point range.

Jalen Brunson had a poor shooting night, going 7-of-25, but still contributed 20 points and five steals.

Bench Depth Making the Difference

One of the big difference makers in this Playoffs season so far is the reserves. New York's reserves outscored San Antonio's bench 27-19 in Game 2. In a one-point game, that difference was crucial to winning

Wembanyama carried the team with 29 points, but San Antonio could not match New York's overall depth.

The Series Shifts to Madison Square Garden

Game 3 begins Tuesday night in New York, where the Knicks will have home court advantage. No team in NBA history has come back from 0-3 in the Finals.

The Spurs are talented and young, and Wembanyama won't go down without a fight. But right now, the Knicks have solutions for everything San Antonio throws at them as they are looking to make history
